We want to give you a installation we can be proud of. You can expect a standard installation to take up to 1.5 Hours.
The camera can record approximately 5hr 40min of footage with it's included memory card.

When hardwired (our standard installation option) we use safe guards such as Low Battery Protection, Timer cut-offs and voltage minimums to keep you and your vehicle protected.
The front camera has a Field of View of 142 Degrees, it will see around 20% of your dashboard, and generally all 4 corners of your bonnet and object forward of your bonnet.
All dash cameras have a fixed-focus point, with its best range of the vehicle directly in front of you (the danger-zone). Vehicles 2, 3 of 4 vehicle length ahead are not considered close enough to be dangerous to your own vehicle, thus the camera lens is "tuned" to read license plates closest to you.
The BlackVue dash cameras are some of the best when recording night time and low-light situations, thanks to a new feature known as HDR. While they won't be able to see in pitch black conditions - they are excellent when lighting is less than perfect.
No, you'll need to be in Wi-Fi Range to connect to your dash camera (around 10 metres).
No, the dash camera records all videos to it's own MicroSD card. Your phone simply allows you to save copies from the camera for safe keeping.
Yes, the camera records all videos to its own MicroSD card.
You may have multiple devices saved to connect to your camera, but only 1 at a time can view the footage concurrently.
GPS requires a clear line of sight to the satellites in orbit to operate. Your GPS position or recorded speed may not be available if you are in a tunnel, underground car park or multiplex.
You may get 'False-Positives' from other shocks to the vehicle, such as closing a car door with force or a hatch/boot. You can adjust the sensitivity from the BlackVue App.
Yes, you can turn off Voice Recording via the Proximity Sensor on the LHS of your camera (see user manual) or from within the BlackVue App.
Event videos flag any Shock/Impacts whilst driving, sometimes these can also be due to potholes, bumps in the road, hard accelerating or braking. You can adjust the sensitivity from within the Blackvue App (under Sensitivity - G-Sensor - Normal Mode).
Whilst recommended to keep your cameras software up-to-date, these are optional.
You can customise the spoken phrases from the camera by using the BlackVue App, See Firmware Settings - System - Voice Guidance.

Yes, you can upgrade or replace your memory card without voiding your warranty. Just be sure to use an "Endurance" rated MicroSD card (Samsung, SanDisk for example). Other rated cards such as a standard Class10 will not be compatible.
No, you will need to purchase the "Front & Rear" camera combo together at the time of purchase. You cannot add a separate rear camera at a later stage if (at the time of purchase) you have the Front Only kit installed.
You'll need to first save a copy of the video, and view the video from the "Downloaded Videos" option from within the BlackVue App.
No, the app and its Connect to Camera feature are free to use without an account.
This is normal. The BlackVue camera use Wi-Fi, similar to your home internet, however it does not provide an active internet connection.

The camera can retain approximately the last 4 hours of driving footage.
Parking Mode relies on your vehicles battery (or optional Power Pack) however it will turn off if it detects the battery is getting low as a safety precaution.

The M2 and M3 dash cameras have a Field of View of 140 degrees so will see a little less than the M4 but still boasts a broad view

You’ll need to use the GNET Viewer app on your PC to view the map data. Remove the MicroSD card from your camera, and into your PC. A copy of the GNET Viewer software will already be located on the MicroSD card.

While there are no dash cameras specifically designed for electric vehicles, all of our dash cameras are compatible with both traditional and electric cars.
Dash cameras are compatible with fully electric vehicles (EVs) and function similarly to how they work in traditional combustion-engine cars.
Here's what you need to know about their operation in EVs:

a) Power source: In an electric vehicle, the dash camera can be hardwired to the car's electrical system or plugged into a 12V socket, just like in a traditional car. Some dash cameras are also powered by an internal battery, although this is less common.

b) Factory Dash Cameras: Some high-end electric vehicles may offer built-in dash camera systems that are fully integrated with the car's infotainment system. This integration can offer recording without the need for purchasing another dash camera system, however usually it's of a lower recording quality. Many EV owners still additionally add a mainstream dash camera for features such a 4K resolution, cloud access and WiFi app access.
Yes, you can install a dash camera in your EV yourself, as the installation process is generally straightforward. Most dash cameras come with a suction cup mount or adhesive mount for attaching the device to the windshield or dashboard.

The camera can be powered by plugging it into a 12V socket or hardwiring it to the car's electrical system. If you're not comfortable with hardwiring, you may want to consult a professional for assistance.
Dash cameras consume a relatively small amount of power, so their impact on your EV's battery is minimal when the car is running.

However, if your dash camera has a parking mode feature and records while your EV is parked and turned off, it will draw power from the battery.
